Elasmogen’s CEO Dr Caroline Barelle won the Academic Entrepreneur of the Year award at Entrepreneurial Scotland’s Summit Awards ceremony which took place on 22nd November 2018 in Glasgow. Commenting on her win, Caroline says “I am delighted to be recognised for championing science-led enterprise at a national level. It is a fantastic achievement, and there is increasing recognition that scientific excellence combined with entrepreneurial thinking can bring great benefits, not just for society through new and innovative technologies, but there is significant potential to make a commercial impact by adding value to the economy and enriching academia-industry links.”
Earlier this year, Caroline was named ‘Rising Stars: Extraordinary Talent (2017)’ and received this award at the prestigious Scottish Life Sciences Awards. Together, these accomplishments are a testament to her success at securing collaborative partnerships with companies that include Almac Discovery Ltd and the US bio-pharmaceutical giant, Amgen Inc and championing science enterprise both in Scotland and abroad.
